IRISS Infrared Windows & Ultrasound Ports

Industrial grade Infrared Windows for infrared inspections of energized electrical systems while keeping panels closed.

Infrared (IR) windows have become an industry-standard tool that enables thermographers to perform infrared surveys of energized electrical conductors and circuit parts while keeping panel covers and doors closed. Because, the electrical equipment is maintained in an "enclosed" and "guarded" condition, IR windows (also referred to as infrared viewports, or sightglasses) provide an easy way for companies to comply with NFPA 70E and OSHA directives during periodic infrared inspections of energized electrical equipment.

Platinum IR Windows

The Platinum Series - launched April 3, 2012. This state-of-the art infrared window is the world's first clear, impact resistant, polymer infrared window for electrical inspection safety. The Platinum Series has the largest standard combined IR and visual window available in the global marketplace. IRISS understands the infrared industry and electrical safety making our new Platinum Series "The Clear Choice."

  • Clear Polymer. The addition of a CLEAR polymer window has the advantage over crystal window technology in the fact that it allows for visual in spection and is fully impact resistant.
  • Recycled Materials.IRISS Platinum IR Windows utilize recycled materials and packaging to contribute towards enviromental sustainability.
  • Poly-View.Our Platinum IR Windows utilize our Poly-View lens system which allows for Visual, Ultraviolet, Longwave, Midwave and Shortwave infrared inspections for use with any make or range of IR or UV camera.

VPFR - Industrial-Grade Infrared Window

The VPFR is the flagship IRISS product.

  • Lockable
  • Fixed and Stable IR Transmission Rate
  • Impact Resistant (to UL and IEEE standards)
  • Manufactured using Electrically Insulated Materials
  • Materials suitable for Industrial Environment
  • UNCONDITIONAL LIFETIME WARRANTY

VPFC - Crystal Infrared Windows

Crystal optics are best reserved for laboratory R&D applications where environmental variables are controlled and where the fragility of the material is not a detriment to safety and long-term use.

  • Lockable
  • Standard VPFC Optic Material - Calcium Fluoride
  • Transmission stability dependant on environment and age of crystal
  • Suitable for Visual and Corona cameras: NOT Impact Resistant (to UL and IEEE standards)
  • Manufactured using Electrically Insulated Materials
  • IR Lens Materials Not Necessarily Suitable for Industrial Use
  • LIFETIME WARRANTY - limited to workmanship

VP12 - Small Aperture IR Window

Sometimes a small window is all you need for a wide-angle lense or a small target. The VP12 might be just the right size.

  • Lockable
  • Fixed and Stable IR Transmission rate
  • Impact Resistant (to UL and IEEE standards)
  • Manufactured using Electrically Insulated Materials
  • Materials suitable for Industrial Environment
  • UNCONDITIONAL LIFETIME WARRANTY

TPC - Transmissive Panel Covers

Great solution for PDU dead-front panels. Now Thermographers can identify loose connections on breakers without ever removing the deadfront panels. Reduces PPE requirements, removes high-risk job task, and speeds infrared surveys.

  • Uses samer patented viewing pane design and as VPFR series
  • Fixed and Stable IR Transmission rate
  • Impact Resistant (to UL and IEEE standards)
  • Electrically Grounded Design
  • Materials suitable for Industrial Environment
  • Supplied with covers if required
  • UNCONDITIONAL LIFETIME WARRANTY

CAP - Custom Application Products

What would you like to have access to for infrared surveys? Talk with an IRISS consultant to learn more about our creative solutions to give you visibility into applications that you may not have been able to access previously.

  • Impact Resistant (to UL and IEEE standards)
  • Electrically Isolated
  • Materials suitable for Industrial Environment
  • Made to your specifications to fit your application
  • Supplied with covers if required
  • LIFETIME WARRANTY

Ultrasound Ports

Ultrasound Ports have become an industry-standard tool that enables ultrasound technicians to perform ultrasonic surveys of a variety of mechanical and electrical applications that are contained behind a barrier. Use of a port or grill creates a consistent measurement point for repeatable measurements regardless of the technician's level of experience.

Note: Because ultrasound ports and grills do not maintain an "enclosed" condition on electrical equipment, personel are exposed to energized conductors per NFPA and CSA definitions. Therefore, full PPE is required when working with any open port or grill system.

VP12 - World's First Ultrasound Port

Increase the repeatability of your ultrasound program with the VP12 Ultrasound Port.

  • Lockable
  • IP2X Compliant
  • Full Ultrasonic Transmission
  • Includes IR Lens for Alternate Use as a Small Aperture IR Window
  • Manufactured using Electrically Insulated Materials
  • Materials suitable for Industrial Environment
  • UNCONDITIONAL LIFETIME WARRANTY

IRID Labels

Proper setting your emissivity is one of the most critical variables to consider when measuring temperature, Delta T values or even when just "looking for hot-spots." IRISS IRID labels are a quick and easy way to standardize the emissivity of your targets to 0.95 for accurate readings and meaningful images. These stickers were designed in a variety of shapes for easy recognition and landmarking.
