Datastick Vibration Spectrum Analyzers
The VSA-1215 Vibration Spectrum Analyzer is Datastick's high performance vibration analyzer / data
collector. It has a maximum frequency capability of 20,000 Hz, with an FFT resolution up to 3,200 lines.
The VSA-1215 hardware module attaches to a powerful Palm TX handheld computer and has a
standard BNC connector and low-noise input that accommodates and powers almost any ICP®-type
piezoelectric accelerometer. The VSA-series of spectrum analyzers accommodate popular PDAs into
the Datastick module. Fits the Palm TX, Treo phone and HP iPAQ
SD memory cards give you unlimited memory capability.
All VSA-series packages includes Datastick Spectrum,
Datastick Review, Datastick Manger and the Datastick
Reporting System™ PC software.
The VSA-1215 records and displays vibration FFT spectra in acceleration, velocity, and
displacement, as well as acceleration waveforms. It also records and displays overall vibration with
color-coded ISO (or custom) alert levels.
All VSAs come with troubleshooting tools so you can evaluate peas and waveforms for signs of
trouble. Zoom in, inspect the X & Y values of any point or just the Peaks. Check Orders of points or
main peaks and find out the differences between peaks.
Add notes to saved spectrums or waveforms
The VSA-2215 offers you our SiteConnex™ technology for the Palm® Treo™ smart phoney. This
allows anyone to take a reading using the Treo™ smart phone, email the reading out and then call
that person to discuss the emailed reading. All while the person is standing next to the machine being
analyzed. Wherever you have cell phone coverage, you can use SiteConnex tm to allow lead
supervisors, consultants, customers or anyone to be in real-time communication about the condition
of your equipment.
VSA-1216
Description and Applications
The VSA-1216 has all the features and capabilities of the VSA-1215, plus
* The ability to accept a direct signal from an independently powered displacement sensor and display
displacement without mathematical integration.
Application: Spot-recording of displacement data at the machine under test or from online systems
such as those by Bently Nevada.
* The ability to accept a direct signal from an ICP®-compatible pressure sensor.
Application: Flow-balancing of pump systems to achieve optimum efficiency in initial setup and
continuing efficiency in maintenance checks.
VSA-1217
Description and Applications
The VSA-1217 has all the features and capabilities of the VSA-1216, plus
* Automatically triggered recording of impact tests with sample rates up to 1 kHz; trigger levels are
adjustable for maximum differentiation between the test impact and background noise
Application: Impact (bump) testing to determine resonant frequencies as well as faults, such as
cracking and fatigue, that can change resonant frequencies.
Application: Initial equipment setup and acceptance.
Application: Maintenance and reliability checks.
